She Did It Again

On April 13, 2013, the show Bag Lady returned to the stage and moved the audience to laughter, tears and joy. The Red Hatters came to see the performance and all enjoyed the show.

I enjoyed performing the Bag Lady show for over sixty people on April 13. Many approached me after the show with their stories  of emotions they too had stuffed inside their bags over the years. There was a former superviser in the audience and several people from church came to the show as well. This is the fourth year I've performed this show and each time I perform it I'm so blessed by the warm wishes from everyone after the show. Many say that I've inspired them the truth is they inspire me. I'm not sure when I'll do the show agian just grateful every time I do. Several brought the book "In Between My Tears too. I'm amazed at how I've gone from selling keychain bags to now selling my own book this is such a great experience.

I"m So Excited

I was so happy that day signing my book "In Between My Tears" for the first time at the show "Bag Lady" in May. It was amazing seeing both of my dreams for myself coming together all in one day.
As a young lady I watched Whoopi Goldberg perform as an comedian and actress and deep within my heart that's what I wanted to do. I could see myself on a stage doing a one woman showI made it happen.
The day I left Vista Maria Home for Girls I wanted to write about that experience for years I tried to write it put would throw it away frustrated with the words that was on the page. I didn't believe that I could write about that experience and a way that would bring honor to the experience I'd learned so much from that experience. I know that I wouldn't be the woman that I am today if I hadn't had that experience. I made my dream come true and I wrote my book.

Back to the Future

The other day I had a meeting at St Thomas Aquians School this happen to be the school that I had my first experienced of working in a classroom as an assistant to a teacher. This is the actual classroom I worked in over forty years ago. I share that experienced of working there in my book In Between My Tears. What a wonderful feeling I had when I walked in there its still a cute little school. The Y now runs the school and I'm sure they will have the same dedication that the teachers had then. Going back in time was a wonderful feeling. The book tells how I felt when I walked in that school.

The Book

It's offical I recieved my letter the other day in the mail I am now an offical author. What a great feeling was so happy holding that certificate in my hands saying that I am the author of the book In Between My Tears I almost cried. I did cry when my co-worker shared with me the story about her daughter my book. She told me that when her daughter got in the car she accidently sat on the book and quckly jumped up and said "Oh I'm so sorry I sat on the book" She put up symbol for quotation mark when she said "The Book". What a great feeling. I went to a friends house and I saw my book on her bookshelf this put a big smile on face. The book is getting around so cool. sMile

She's Here!

Bag Lady May of 2012
A wonderful surprise Kaylan is here with me. I couldn't believe my eyes that day when she walked toward me while I stood on that stage at the end of the show. My granddaugther, Kaylan was there to see my show.
Every time I would do Bag Lady I thought about my granddaughter and I would wonder if she would like the show. I would wonder if she would think that I was a good actress. I wanted her to be the little girl dancer in the show. Seeing her that day walking towards me was a surprise of a life time. She was there on that stage in my arms.
To share my creativity with her is such a wonderful gift. I've dreamed of writing a book and doing a show and having my granddaughter see and experience them with me. I wanted us to have tea and cookies and I tell her my life stories.  I wanted her to see me as a wise old lady, a lady that she could come to for a hug and advice. I wanted her to see me as beautiful and smart. There she was seeing me sharing my story and all its uglyest and all it's pain. She heard my story and she saw my book she even held it in her hands. My joy was there for me that day she was in my arms. In between my tears when I was 14 years old bringing my only son into the world God knew that there would be my joy and she would know me. My book is for my granddaughter because I love her.
